Long established and respected legal firm P. O’Connor & Son Solicitors has announced the appointment of Samantha Geraghty as Managing Partner. Taking up her role on 1 January, 2023 Samantha succeeds former Law Society President Pat O’ Connor who continues in practice as a senior partner in the firm.
Samantha guides and represents a diverse portfolio of clients in Corporate, Commercial, Banking & Finance matters. She specialises in commercial property, Corporate Law and business development.
Samantha is also a Notary Public (and member of the Governing Council of the Faculty of Notaries Public) and Chartered Tax Advisor. She is a member of Clár na Cleachtóirí Gaeilge and was recognised at the Irish Law Awards 2022 as the Irish Language Practitioner of the Year.
Welcoming Ms. Geraghty’s appointment and wishing her well, the former Managing Partner, Patrick O’Connor noted that she has been with the firm for more than two decades. He said “The firm is fortunate to have a person of Samantha’s qualities taking on the role as its Managing Partner.”
Ms. Geraghty herself described it as an honour to now lead the firm where she completed a traineeship some twenty years ago. Acknowledging the “fantastic work and leadership of the former managing partner, Patrick O’Connor, Ms. Geraghty added that his hard work and ambition provided the foundation for the modern, progressive firm that now exists. Ms. Geraghty said she would also like to recognise the wonderful team of people (to include eight solicitors and a considerable support staff) who together make up “P. O’Connor & Son”. She acknowledged the many clients throughout the County and Country who continue to entrust the firm with their legal affairs and business needs. “ I would like to thank our clients for their continued support and trust in us.
